The 6th annual MIHOA Summer Development Program will take place July 11-14 at several rinks in the St. Louis area. Held in cooperation with the Winterland Ice Hockey Friendship Games, this event features structured development, education and coaching of MIHOA’s younger and new members. Participants will officiate several games in a short period of time and will receive coaching and supervision from members of MIHOA’s Development & Education team. The program is an excellent opportunity to prepare for the upcoming season.
What: In partnership with the Winterland Ice Hockey friendship games, a weekend of structured development, education and coaching of USA Hockey officials who officiate games with MIHOA. Who: Officials – Young and newer MIHOA officials who are certified as level 1, level 2 and level 3 during the 2018-19 season. The target age group is ages 13-30, however members of all ages are welcome to apply. Supervisors– experienced members of MIHOA’s Development & Education team, and veteran officials who will provide pre-game tips, shadow officials on the ice, provide in-game coaching during stoppages and intermissions, and postgame feedback. When: July 11-14, 2019. Majority of the games held on Friday evening, all-day Saturday, and all-day Sunday. Additional games may be scheduled for earlier in the week. PLEASE NOTE: preference will be given to officials who are able to commit to the entire weekend. Preference will also be given to officials who have not yet participated in our Summer Development Program. Jefferson City Friendship Games MIHOA will also be conducting a Summer Development Program weekend during the Squirt & Pee Wee Winterland Jefferson City Friendship games at Washington Park Ice Arena in Jefferson City. Dates are June 21-23, 2019. During these games, a similar development program will be conducted by MIHOA, focusing on the continued training and education of local Jefferson City officials and select officials from the St. Louis Metro.
